Deb - QRST

Here are my next group of letters cut from the Ikea catalogue.
I couldn't find anything at Ikea to house my letters so I am now working on a small box/envelope, something I've never done before. Four prototypes so far!!

Finito

I actually can't believe I have crossed the line.  Three months late starting the second alphabet due to a great project I was working on and now have finished two weeks earlier.  Great feeling crossing the line.  It is even greater piecing those little bits of leftovers and scraps and making them into a life of their own.  Something that has had a distressed, torn, worn, frayed life can still piece it together and feel you have accomplished a "whole" lot of satisfaction.  Have a great Christmas everyone,  I feel blessed to be a part of this creative community of alaw!  2013 will be even greater than 2012, good luck with your finished alphabets! Fiona is catching up!

I have no real idea where I am up to or where I should be up to - but I just keep making letters!  I am pretty sure I'll get it all done by the end of the year...

The latest grouping of modern versal letters on marbled paper. I am pretty sure I only have two to do when we return in mid-December, and then I shall be finished!

JGR QRST

Hi friends, I hope all is well with you, things here are busy as always, it's hard to believe November is more than half over!
Continuing on with my 'accidental alphabet': Q is a squishy blue curve colliding with a rust/brown streak,
R is rather bold and not so 'accidental' looking with an unpredictable merging of yellow-green and more brown,
S has a bit of texture and bright orange happiness,
T is rather serious and smoldering. Thanks for visiting, have a good weekend!

Regrettably Bowing Out - Jo

Hi there all you clever ALAW-ers.  Such an amazing collection of creative minds!!!!  Well, I managed to complete the first half of the year, but have been thwarted by my calendar.  It's full to overflowing.

It seems I have too many places to go, and things to do, so something has to go.  I enjoyed the challenge of ALAW, but there is no way I'll finish the second part of the year's letters.

It is with regret that I have to say goodbye to this challenge, tho' I will certainly be watching your wonderful progess towards the end of the year.

Thanks for all the supportive comments, and for providing me with such inspiring images and concepts.  Particular thanks to our illustrious leader, Fiona, who seems to fit so much into her busy life, but still finds time to support the arts generally.

I guess we will cross paths occasionally. Until then I wish you all health, perhaps even wealth, but certainly continual artistic progress.

Best regards....

Reuse, recycle, rewrite, remake!

I am really into
reusing and getting as much out of fabric as possible.  Remanipulating,
rechallenging myself into doing something out of the norm.  Hopefully I haven't painted my self
into a corner with this one.  It has been a big push to get myself across the line but where has 2012 gone?
